Why Wonder?

A beautiful Jamaican past me the other day and when he passed he commented to me on a girl. He looked at me and asked "why should I wonder, I would rather know". He was commenting on a girl he liked - she was dancing seductively and freely and he was fully experiencing his emotions towards her. He was a man, not usually confused, who was confused, but only for an instant. And then he spoke the words to me and I said to him, in agreement, "why wonder!".

He approached the girl and they melted into one.

Why Wonder...I think to myself. How perfect. Why is it that we "wonder" when we can know? Is it the fear of knowing that keeps us insulated
